By participating in our tours, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to, the following policies, terms, and disclaimers.

Terms and Definitions

In the following webpage, the following definitions and terms apply:

• 'You': refers to the individual booking or participating in a tour.
• 'Rory in Oxford': Rory Henderson Kunz. The terms 'Rory', ‘Rory Kunz’, ‘Rory Henderson Kunz’, 'Rory in Oxford', 'I', and 'me' will be used interchangeably.

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Change of Date or Time (Shared Tours)

• You may request to change the date or time of your tour once, free of charge, provided that you give notice more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour. All changes are subject to availability. Additional changes may incur an administrative fee of £5 per person.

Cancelling Your Booking (Shared Tours)

• If you cancel your tour more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, you will receive a refund, minus a £5 administrative fee per person and any booking or transaction fees. This administrative fee may be waived at my sole discretion. Booking and transaction fees cannot be refunded.
• No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time or for no-shows.

Cancellation and Refund Policies for Private Tours

• Private tour terms may be outlined in email correspondence, booking confirmations, or invoices. Where specific terms have been provided, those will prevail over the general terms herein.
• If no specific terms apply, the general conditions below will be enforced.
• "Places of Interest" ("POIs") refer to any college, building, or site in Oxford that requires a paid entry.
• Entry fees paid to Rory in Oxford cannot be refunded, unless in the event that Rory in Oxford cancels a tour booked and paid for by you in which these POIs were to be entered, or in the event that entry into those POIs is no longer possible. In the event that the customer asks for a tour to be rearranged, then, if entry into those POIs is available, any entry fees must be repaid, or else the tour will continue without entering into the POIs. If a tour is rearranged, however, there is no guarantee that entry into any previously agreed-upon POIs will be possible.
• 75% of the total amount price of a tour (minus the price of entry fees) can be refunded if the tour is cancelled by the customer more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour. If no start time had been arranged before cancelation, the ‘scheduled start time of the tour’ is to be taken as 08.00 GMT on the day the tour had been scheduled for. No refunds can be offered if the tour is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour.
• You may request to change the date or time of your tour once, free of charge, provided that you give notice more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the tour. This request is subject to availability. Additional changes will be charged a £50 administrative fee per booking. As specified above, entry into POIs cannot be rearranged in this manner.

Tour Cancellation and Abandonments

• If Rory in Oxford has to cancel a tour, a full refund (minus booking and transaction fees, but including POI entry fees) will be provided. Rory in Oxford reserves the right to cancel a tour for any reason, up to and after the tour’s scheduled start time. No additional compensation will be provided.
• Refunds or partial refunds cannot be provided if you decide to leave the tour early.
• Tours will go ahead in all weather conditions, so please come dressed suitably

Latecomers Policy

• The scheduled end time of a tour is the scheduled start time plus the advertised duration. For example, a two hour tour with a scheduled start time of 13.00 has a scheduled end time of 15.00.
• If you arrive later than the scheduled start time, then, if the tour still goes ahead, the tour will still end at the scheduled end time.
• If you are late for a shared tour, the tour may start without you. If possible, Rory in Oxford will attempt to communicate with you so that you can join the tour part of the way through, but this is not guaranteed. No compensation will be provided to latecomers or no-shows.
• If you are late for a private tour, Rory in Oxford will wait for you up to a period of time decided by Rory’s discretion. If no communication is made by you before or during that period, it will be assumed that you are not attending the tour. If it has been assumed that you are not attending the tour, the tour will be abandoned and charged to you at the full usual or previously agreed-upon rate. If communication is made by you before or during that period, the tour may be delayed at Rory’s discretion. If the tour is delayed, it will still finish at the scheduled end time. No compensation will be provided to latecomers or no-shows.

Tour Itinerary

Shared Oxford University & City Tour

• Most of the stops on our tour are buildings owned, and constantly used, by the University of Oxford or its constituent colleges. All cities are unpredictable - and Oxford is no exception; for these, and other reasons, the itinerary for the shared Oxford University and City tour is subject to change without notice. The most important thing for me, is that you to have a brilliant tour, and I will always make sure that disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.
• Tickets for the shared Oxford University and City tour include entry into one of either: 1) Divinity School or 2) Trinity College. The matter of which of these two options is decided upon is a matter for Rory Kunz. If neither Divinity School or Trinity College are available, an alternative may be provided. Whether an alternative will provided is at the discretion of Rory Kunz. This alternative may be of a value lower than entry into Divinity School or than entry into Trinity College. This substitution may be made without prior notice. The tour guide may determine the alternative as they see fit. If no alternative can be provided, a partial refund of £2.50 per ticket can be provided, on request. No more compensation or refund than this £2.50 per ticket can be given.

Itinerary Policies for Private Tours

• Different terms apply for different private tours. Please enquire for the specific policies of any tours you are interested in. Terms for bespoke tours are to be set whilst arranging the tour.

Disclaimer of Liability

Please read this disclaimer carefully before participating in any of our tours. In this section ('Disclaimer of Liability'), 'you' refers to both the person booking a tour with Rory in Oxford, and to any person participating in a tour led or operated by Rory in Oxford. By booking, attending, or participating in a tour, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Assumption of Risk

   • Participation in a walking tour involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, physical exertion, outdoor weather conditions, traffic, uneven terrain, and interactions with other participants and the general public. By joining our tours, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with these activities.

2. Waiver of Liability

   • Rory in Oxford (that is, Rory Kunz) and its employees, contractors, guides, and agents are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or inconvenience sustained by any person, including but not limited to, physical injury, property damage, theft, or loss of personal belongings, during or as a result of participation in our tours.

3. Personal Responsibility

   • Participants are responsible for their own safety and well-being throughout the duration of the tour. This includes, but is not limited to, wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, staying hydrated, and following the instructions and guidelines provided by the tour guide.

4. Supervision of Children

   • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times during the tour. The accompanying adult assumes full responsibility for the safety and conduct of the child(ren) in their care.

5. Medical Conditions

   • If you have any medical conditions or are pregnant, please consult with your healthcare provider before joining our tours. Rory in Oxford is not responsible for any health-related issues that may arise during or after the tour.

6. Emergency Situations

   • In the event of an emergency, participants should seek assistance from local emergency services. Rory in Oxford and its guides do not assume responsibility for the management emergencies.

7. Insurance

   • We recommend that participants have personal travel insurance that covers medical expenses, personal injury, and personal liability.

8. Tours involving transportation (other than walking)

   • The Client (you) acknowledges and understands that participating in a tour and travelling in the personal vehicle of the Tour Guide involves potential risks, including but not limited to: Vehicular accidents or breakdowns; road conditions or hazards; adverse weather conditions; and any other risks inherent to travel and outdoor activities. The Client voluntarily agrees to assume all such risks, whether known or unknown.
   • The Client agrees to release, waive, and forever discharge Rory Kunz, his representatives, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to: injury, damage, or loss sustained during the tour; the use of Rory Kunz's personal vehicle. This waiver applies to both personal injury and property damage, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by UK law.
   • The Client agrees to indemnify and hold Rory Kunz harmless from any claims, actions, or demands, including legal fees, arising from or related to their participation in the tour.
